What is acne?

Acne is a term for the over production of oil, which results in plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions called pimples or zits, whiteheads, blackheads, nodules or cysts. Acne most commonly appears on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and arms.

Teenagers are affected the most by acne, but acne can also affect adults between the ages of 20 to 40. After age 40, acne may lessen because of lower levels of hormones.

How common is acne?

Millions of people around the world have acne. Nearly 85% of people between the ages of 12 to 24 develop acne. While both men and women are affected by acne, young men are more likely to suffer the effects of acne for longer periods of time because testosterone tends to make acne worse.

What causes acne?

The exact causes of acne are unknown, but it is believed that it can result from several factors, primarily, an increase in hormones called androgens, which both males and females have. Increases in androgens cause your oil glands to enlarge and produce more oil.

This oil can also change into a thick white substance called sebum. An increased oil production clogs your pores with oil and sebum that can breakdown the cellular walls in your pores, which causes bacteria to grow and pimples to develop. Some researchers also believe that your chances of developing acne can be greatly influenced by genetics.

Other Aloe Vera Acne solutions, the use of certain drugs containing androgens and lithium are known to cause acne. The use of greasy cosmetics can also lead to acne because they plug your cell follicles and promote bacterial growth. But now, Aloe vera when used both internally and topically gives promising results on acne and its use is being recommended by reserachers.

Talking About Acne Aloe Vera – How exactly does Aloe Vera help?

Acne Aloe Vera solution can be achieved by using both Aloe Vera Juice and Aloe Vera Gel. Both can easily make good home remedies for the treatment of acne and residual scars. Aloe Vera acts as a natural bleach. When applied on the scars, they slowly reduce and vanish.

Researchers have found that Aloe Vera is effective for treating acne. When applied externally, Aloe Vera has the ability to reach the deepest body tissues, penetrating some seven layers.

Aloe-Vera-Research has confirmed that, when freshly squeezed Aloe Vera Gel is applied on the affected area of the skin, it creates a protective coating that speeds up healing process, decreases swelling, inflammation and relieves pain.

How dou you make your Aloe Vera Acne solutions? You can purchase an Aloe Vera Plant, break open the succulent stems to obtain the gel compound that is inside the plant. To use Aloe Vera gel properly, apply the gel topically and liberally to skin after washing.

Allopathy has not been successful in finding a permanent solution for acne. But nature has an answer to it and this answer is found in Aloe Vera. Both Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Vera Juice can do wonders to your skin when drunk in juice form or applied as a gel.

Aloe Vera is loaded with antioxidants that fight against free radicals that float in the body. Aloe Vera can add a rich supply of building materials to produce and maintain a health looking skin, but it also has several other medicinal applications and one of them is help reduce acne.

The skin replenishes itself every 21 to 28 days using the nutritional building blocks of Aloe Vera; the skin utilizes these nutrients daily to help combat the effects of aging.

Acne Prevention Measures And How to Care For Acne

The most significant first step of treating acne is taking steps to prevent it. How do you do this?

  • Clean your skin properly twice a day, with a mild cleanser to remove dirt, bacterial, unwanted material and excess oils that can cause breakouts. Avoid steam or very hot water.
  • However, do not over wash your skin, as this will remove oils that actually help your skin, thus resulting in dry, irritated skin and further aggrevate your condition.

  • Be careful with exfoliation (removing the top layer of dead skin cells) Using a rough washcloth, loofah or specially designed product. Skin with acne is already irritated, and scrubbing can make things worse. Don’t use brushes, rough sponges or clothes cleansers with granules or walnut hulls, or anything else of that nature on delicate facial skin. For the back and chest, where skin is less sensitive, you can try one of the acne scrub pads along with soap that contains benzoyl peroxide.
  • Don’t’ get a facial. You may end up doing more harm than good.
  • Apart from Aloe Vera, one can use over-the-counter products containing benzoyl peroxide once or twice a day. It helps break up the plug of dead skin cells, bacterial, and oil that clogs the pore and forms an acne blemish. Start with the lowest concentrations – a 2.5 percent or 5 percent lotion or gel once a day. After a week, increase to twice a day, morning and night, if it doesn’t irritate your skin.

If your acne doesn’t improve within four to six weeks, use a 10 percent lotion or gel once a day and, if needed, twice a day. Work your way up gradually, especially if you have sensitive skin, because the higher the concentration, the more irritating it may be.

  • There are other over the counter products containing sulfur or resorcinol which help unplug oil glands by irritating skin. However, most dermatologists believe that benzoyl peroxide is the most effective over the counter ingredient for acne.
  • Avoid pricking the pimples as it pushes the bacteria further into the skin and can cause further irritation to the affected area and skin surrounding it by spreading the pus. This can increase your chances of developing cystic acne.
  • Don’t just spot treat acne, put product on acne prone areas too. That can include your entire face(avoid the lips and eyes) back and chest.

  • If you use cosmetics, avoid those that are oil based as this will definately lead to clogged pores. Use cosmetics depending on your skin type. Learn about your skin type first and then try commercial products. Check the label to find out if make-up is water or oil based. If the label is unclear, use this guideline: If it separates into water and powder when left to sit undisturbed for a while, it is water-based, and if it stays mixed, it contains oil.
  • Removing all make-up each night before bed is a must do.
  • Acne does not only affect the face, it does affect other parts of the body as well, such as back, chest. If you have this kind of acne, make appoint to wear loose clothes as tight clothes can irritate your skin especially if you engage in work that can cause you to sweat.
  • If possible, try to avoid areas where food is being fried. The grease from frying food become airborne and then settles onto your skin. This grease then cloggs your pores.
  • Did you know that Stress contributes to acne? Stress causes chemicals in your body to work against you and can cause skin reactions and breakouts to occur. Keep stress at bay by all means.
  • Last but not least, eat a balanced diet. Have a rich diet full of vegetables, fruits. Increase the fibre content in your daily diet. Avoid excess refined sugar, sweets as they damage collagen in skin and make it loose its elasticity.
  • Chocolate, greasy foods, nuts and other foods have not been proven to have anything at all to do with causing teenage acne. If you notice a correlation between something you eat and your face breaking out, you could try avoiding the offending food.
  • Drink a minimum of 8 to 10 glasses of water daily to detoxity the body. Water naturally hydrates the skin and gives that young vibrant look.
  • Stick to acne prevention method that works for you. Be patient and remember that it takes time to get reasults of prevention and treatment.

If you are not sure about what to use, or nothing seems to be working for you, consult a physician.

Acne Aloe Vera Treatments

There are many professional acne treatments on the market, which are generally very expensive. However, if you can't afford them, there are many simple products which will help eliminate acne if used correctly. Most importantly, is for you to follow the guideliness and choose the most effective method which will work best for you.

The most simple and common domestic acne aloe vera treatment is anything that contains salicylic acid. You can try salicylic acid facial cleanser and Aloe Vera gel. Consult a professional pharmacist to select skin cleanser or soap that will be most effective in your situation.

Removing Acne Scars

Scars are fibrous tissue formed on the skin in order to repair broken tissue. Cells that go in making up the scars are of lesser quality than the original cells and that is why they are easily visible.

What is the best way to eliminate acne scars on the face?

There are a number of both herbal, acne-home-remedies and medical/cosmetic methods of scar removal. Herbal scar removal methods are simple home remedies, and they have no side-effects at all. You can try the listed methods before going in for surgical produres.

Home Remedies for Treatment of Scars

1. Take some vitamin E capsules. Open them and smear the powder or the oil of these capsules onto the scars. This will help the scars heal.

2.Aloe vera paste can be mixed with the powder of vitamin E capsules. This can be rubbed onto the scar for better results. This must be done several times a day.

3.You can also apply honey directly on the scars and leave it overnight. This application must be done frequently so that the scar gets enough time to get healed completely.

4.Put the oil of the tea tree onto the scar and gently rub it in several times a day. The scar will vanish in a few days.

5. Alternatively, green tea can be slightly blanched, dabbed onto a cotton swab and then massaged onto the scar. This will also help the scar to gradually vanish.

6. Rub ice cubes onto the scars. This is a simple remedy to treat the scars. But the ice must be rubbed several times on the face.

7. Olive oil is very good in removing scars. However if you don’t get olive oil for some reason, then you can take any oil and massage it on the scar several times a day. After many days of such treatment, the scar will eventually wear off.

8.If the scar is due to a pimple, then the following remedy is useful. Mix a tablespoon of sour cream, a tablespoon of yogurt, a tablespoon of ground oatmeal and a few drops of lemon juice and blend it thoroughly. Apply this paste onto the face for ten minutes. Then wash it off. Do this four times in a day. Remember to use low-fat sour cream if you have an oily skin.

9.Cut a clove of garlic into half and rub it on the pimples when you have them. This helps to treat the pimples without leaving a scar behind later on.

Useful Herbs in the Treatment of Scars

Herbal remedies are the herbal solutions that are helping people worldwide in finding new paths of achieving great health benefits. They are easy to adapt and they also do not require a prescription. Acne Herbal Scar treatments are among other:

1. Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Aloe vera is a good home remedy for the treatment of residual scars. Its juice acts as natural bleach. Aloe Vera gel is applied to the scars, which then slowly reduce and vanish.

2. Cucumber (Curcumis sativus) The cool cucumber helps in the removal of scar tissues also. A paste is made of the cucumber and is applied directly onto the scars. This helps the scars to smoothen out after a few applications left overnight.

3.Indian Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis) The Indian gooseberry, or the amalaki, is very important in the prevention of scars after healing. Amalaki is the richest source of vitamin C, which is needed for cementing open wounds.

Dietary Guidelines for Treatment of Scars

Vitamin E is essential in the healing of a wound. When you are injured, increase the intake of vitamin E in the diet. This is available in the form of nuts, eggs, oilseeds, wheat germ, etc. Taking a lot of vitamin E speeds up the healing process. Because of this the possibility of scars remaining after the injury is very less.

It must be noted that vitamin E must be had when the wound is still healing. After the scar is formed, the effects of vitamin E in removing the scar are minimal.

Vitamin C is also essential during the healing process. Vitamin C contains collagen, a cementing material that is very necessary during blood clotting. This can be got from most sour foods, including creams. Creams are considered to be best for this purpose. Cocoa cream is very beneficial in the treatment of superficial scars.

Keep your diet adequate with green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. Taking a good amount of protein-rich food is also necessary for fast healing with less scars left.

Medical And Cosmetic Scar Removal Methods

A number of methods are now available to deal with acne scars, but you will have to consult a dermatologist to find out which one would be best for you. The depth, shape and location of scars dictate the treatment that will be most effective.

There are four known methods that can be used to eliminate acne scars namely:-

1. Dermabrassion

This is an older method of dealing with scars. A high-speed brush is used to scrap away the top layer of skin, leaving a smoother contour. While dermabrasion improves the appearance of a scar, it won’t necessarily eliminate it completely and is not effective for all types of acne scars. For best results, you may need several treatments.

2. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a more recent variation of this approach. Instead of a brush, aluminum oxide crystals are passed through a vacuum tube to remove surface skin. This method also requires repeated procedures and does not always work. It may have some side effect, redness, often lasting for days.

3. Filling Scars in with Injected Collagen

The above procedure isn’t an option if you have a history of an autoimmune disease. You also must be tested to make sure that you are not allergic to the collagen used(it comes from cows).

You should see an immediate improvement with collagen injections, but the change isn’t permanent. Repeat injections may be needed every three to six months.

As an alternative to injected collagen, dermatologists can use your own fat collected from elsewhere on your body. However, this isn’t permanent solution either – over six to 18 months, the body reabsorbs the fat, and you will need another treatment.

4. Laser Treatment

This is one of the latest approaches of removing acne scars, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Different lasers may be used for different types of scars.

For example, if you have depressed scars, the pulsed carbon dioxide laser can help by vaporizing thin layers of skin and tightening collagen fibers. The erbium yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser, known as the Er:YAG laser, is used to sculpt small, irregular scars.

These acne treatments work by promoting collagen growth underneath an acne scar without injuring the skin’s surface. You may get satisfactory results from a single treatment. The only disadvantage is that your skin may be red for months afterward.

Aloe Vera Juice taken internally, penetrates skin to reach tendons, muscles, joints and lymph system and promotes the growth of new tissues.

Testimonials for Dead Sea Salt Psoriasis Cream

I began to get psoriasis on my thumb and I was using a steroid cream suggested by my doctor, It simply did not work and my skin was getting even worse. Then I noticed more psoriasis on my other hand. Even my sister who is a Nurse could not recommend anything but another steroid cream. I was terribly frustrated and desperate for relief because my hands were very itchy and painful and began to split open. I found your website and was impressed by the combination of Aloe Vera and the Dead Sea Salts so I ordered the cream. I began to experience results in as little as 3 days! Now it is a part of my daily regiment! Thanks for this amazing stuff!

Mr. A.J, Cincinnati, OH.

I have tried your product and after two weeks of use I am very pleased. I have battled psoriasis for 15 years now and being skeptical at first because of so many disappointments with almost every topical prescription known to man, I decided to give Dead Sea Salt Psoriasis Cream a try. Right off the bat I started to see improvements! At first I noticed Less scaling and within a week I noticed my patches beginning to flatten out. I have now been using the cream for two weeks and my psoriasis is starting to heal from the inside out. I feel great and my self esteem has never been better. I am now a life long customer, this is a great cream.

Ms. B.N, Newark, NJ.
